Mooncat, a veteran figure in the Spanish drum & bass scene, returns with a new release on South Yard.

After a prolonged period of silence, Mooncat, one of our most respected artists, steps back into the spotlight with a release featuring two tracks: «Konkreet» and «Deep Blues,» each with its own unique character and message.

«Konkreet» is inspired by the struggle and resilience needed to survive in the «concrete jungle» of our society. This track is a musical invitation from the artist to confront the alienation of city life, rampant capitalism, individualism, and excessive ambition. The dub-infused atmospheres invite reflection and preparation for action. The gut-wrenching and powerful basslines aim to overwhelm you, but the resilient atmosphere counters them, keeping us focused in perfect harmony.

«Deep Blues» is a musical synthesis of how our minds sometimes delve into deep states where shadows we prefer not to see reside. Filled with past experiences and inherited beliefs, this track represents the parts of ourselves we reject. The dark and intriguing atmospheres of this track symbolize that deep mind until we decide to face that internal struggle. The bassline, with its brutal sub-bass oscillations, stirs up all that dark, repressed content, akin to the dark night of the soul.
